“The Richest Puppy in the Piedmont”, the second production of the current season of the Hickory Community Theatre’s RugBug Theatre for Children, will hold auditions for young actors February 28 and March 1st at 5:30pm in HCT’s Council Chamber theater.
Directed by Rose Goodrich, the play calls for a cast of up to 12 actors, boys and girls, ages 7 to 14. It is a lighthearted fable with a regional twist. Rehearsals begin on March 7.
RugBug Theatre presents plays by HCT’s youngest actors for its youngest audience.
“The Richest Puppy in the Piedmont” will be presented in the Council Chamber weekends
April 9-17. The Council Chamber is located in the HCT complex - 30 3rd ST NW in downtown Hickory.
HCT is a Funded Affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. This project received support from the United Arts Council of Catawba County through the North Carolina Arts Council, with funding from the State of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

My daughter really loves the Hickory Community Theatres RugBug Shows. They are for a young audience but all ages enjoy the show alike. This is the only theatre I know of that offers a youth theatre. It’s a great opportunity for children and to learn about acting drama, and speaking in front of an audience.
